Grant and Clare farm sheep and cattle on their farm near Whanganui, New Zealand and are excited to be diversifying into a plant protein.

The pumpkins are incorporated into our farming system.

Grant and Clare are using regenerative practices that nurture the soil, that in turn, produces the best growing environment for the pumpkin plants with no chemical interventions or irrigation.

The pumpkins are sun ripened and harvested in the field, nothing is wasted. Only the pumpkin seeds leave the paddock. The pumpkin’s outer layers remain to be eaten by happy stock or recycled back into the soil. A sustainable cycle that’s good for Mother Earth.

The pumpkin seeds are processed as little as possible so that the seeds retain their natural goodness and nutritional value. The delicate sheaths that remain intact, around the seeds, are beneficial for gut health and are a source of fibre.
